"I was passing by the Tutti Frutti on Telegraph in Berkeley, which I had never even noticed before, when I saw a sign in their window screaming "soy bean frozen yogurt". I inquired with what seemed to be the owner, who confirmed that it's suitable for vegans (the website says so too, although they don't list ingredients). Having never been inside a self serve froyo place before, I was kind of confused, but the guy was really helpful and explained that it's only the "soy bean" flavor which is dairy-free, and that he's hoping they'll add more flavors soon. The froyo had a light vanilla/strong soy flavor and wasn't too sweet, and the texture was kind of crystallized but still creamy. Granted, you'd be supporting a shop which sells lots of dairy, but I think it's cool that an international chain recognized the need for a non-dairy option. And it wasn't expensive - I got about a cup of yogurt with a few spoonfuls of fruit topping for $2.15."
