Yummy Tummy

There has been a change of ownership at Yummy Tummy. So I don't know what kind of vegan foods they prepare.

Ever wanted your own Iron Chef? Peter Lui the owner and chef at Yummy Tummy is our personal vegan Iron Chef Cantonese.  Cooking in a southern Chinese style, a few of the vegan dishes on the menu are eggplant and pumpkin hot pot (stone bowl, slow cooked stew) and stir fry kang kong. But Peter's best dishes are created in the 'Iron Chef' style, where he puts together the freshest ingredients and special Chinese seasonings based on his own recipes on the fly.  He usually makes two entrees and a vegetable and tofu soup that our waitress described as 'qing,' meaning clean or clear.  Of course the entrees come with white jasmine rice and Chinese oolong tea.

Although Yummy Tummy specializes in seafood, Peter Lui has gone out his way to make the best vegan Chinese food that I've had in a long time. That is no small statement from me, because I am Cantonese and my family cooks in the southern Cantonese style. Eating at Yummy Tummy feels like eating at home.

Ha, out of context for your blog but your comment about "no small feat for me because my family is Cantonese and cooks in the southern Chinese style" and Iron Chef made me think of Quentin Tarentino.... some type of line he'd write. Now, everybody go kang kong fighting.... (bad pun)
